This continued training programme consists of three sessions (a practice-based conference on depression and suicide, the acquisition of conversational skills to provide psychosocial support to the patients, the exchange of experiences with partners in the area) and took place in Bruges and Kortrijk during the first half of 2006.

These experiences show that there are different ways in which post-hospital follow-up care can be provided to suicidal patients and that it is of crucial importance that there should be a system set in place that ensures that this is indeed the case.
