The Group’s debt/equity ratio rose to 0.27:1 at the end of the first half of 2009 from 0.15:1 at the end of 2008, reflecting the successful issuance of a USD 5 billion bond (two tranches) in the US in the first quarter and the launch of a EUR 1.5 billion bond in the second quarter.
