Bij een risico op HIV-besmetting, wordt aanbevolen om gedurende 28 dagen PEP in te nemen. De duur van de PEP is grotendeels gebaseerd op studies bij dieren, door het gebrek aan gegevens over de optimale duur van de PEP bij de mens.
Du fait du manque de données sur la durée optimale de la PPE chez l’être humain (p.ex. il n’y a jamais eu d’étude où la prophylaxie était prise par l’homme pendant moins de 28 jours), la recommandation de prendre la PPE pour le risque d’infection à VIH, pendant 28 jours, est basée pour une large part sur des études menées chez l’animal.

Na de evaluatie van de ontvangen informatie wordt de autorisatiebeslissing meegedeeld aan de PEP.
Après évaluation des informations reçues, la décision d'autorisation est communiquée au PEP.

Wanneer de PDP vaststelt dat de gebruiker gemachtigd is om toegang te krijgen tot de toepassing wordt dit aan het PEP gemeld, dat de toegang verleent.
Lorsque le PDP constate que l'utilisateur est autorisé à accéder à l'application, il le signale au PEP qui lui octroie l'accès.

Wanneer een gebruiker toegang wil tot een door eHealth beschermde toepassing, dan wordt de autorisatie aanvraag onderschept door het Policy Enforcement Point (PEP) met alle informatie omtrent de geïdentificeerde gebruiker, de gevraagde toepassing alsook de gebruikte resources en de context (bvb. het tijdstip waarop de toegang tot de toepassing wordt gevraagd).
Lorsqu'un utilisateur veut accéder à une application protégée par eHealth , la demande d'autorisation est interceptée par le Policy Enforcement Point (PEP) avec toutes les informations concernant l'utilisateur identifié, l'application demandée ainsi que les ressources utilisées et le contexte (ex. le moment auquel l'accès à l'application a été demandé).
