Praktisch altijd gaat het om patiënten met kanker, en zijn andere risicofactoren voor het optreden van kaakbeennecrose aanwezig: chemotherapie, corticotherapie, radiotherapie t.h.v. het kaakbeen, onvoldoende mondhygiëne, tandheelkundige ingreep (b.v. tandextractie).
Il s’agit presque toujours de patients atteints d’un cancer, et d’autres facteurs de risque de survenue d’une ostéonécrose de la mâchoire sont présents: chimiothérapie, corticothérapie, radiothérapie au niveau de la mâchoire, hygiène buccale insuffisante, intervention dentaire (p. ex. extraction dentaire).
