- Volgens een studie in de eerste lijn bij zestig-plussers met een veralgemeende angststoornis resulteert cognitieve gedragstherapie in meer effect dan telefonische ondersteuning op piekeren, depressieve symptomen en geestelijk welbevinden maar niet op de uitkomst angst [JAMA 2009; 301:1460-7, met commentaar in Journal Watch Psychiatry 2009; April 7]. In een studie bij 488 kinderen en adolescenten met angststoornissen (scheidingsangst, veralgemeende angststoornis, en/of sociale fobie) resulteert de combinatie van sertraline met cognitieve gedragstherapie na 12 weken in een hogere respons dan beide therapieën afzonderlijk.
Dans une étude portant sur 488 enfants et adolescents présentant un trouble anxieux (angoisse de séparation, trouble anxieux généralisé et/ou phobie sociale), l’association de sertraline et d’un traitement comportemental cognitif a entraîné après 12 semaines un plus grand bénéfice, par rapport aux deux traitements utilisés séparément.

Kandel (1999, 2002), Nobelprijswinnaar voor geneeskunde, de nadruk op het feit dat " psychoanalyse ons begrip van het mentale leven heeft veranderd" door " een voortreffelijk geheel aan nieuwe perspectieven omtrent de onbewuste mentale processen, het psychische determinisme, kinderseksualiteit en, wat waarschijnlijk het allerbelangrijkst is, omtrent de irrationaliteit van de menselijke motivering" voor te leggen.
Dans un article initialement publié en ’99 dans l’American Journal of Psychiatry, et dont le retentissement fut extrêmement important sur le plan international, E.R. Kandel (1999, 2002), Prix Nobel de Médecine, souligne combien « la psychanalyse a révolutionné notre compréhension de la vie mentale » en proposant « un remarquable ensemble de nouvelles perspectives à propos des processus mentaux inconscients, du déterminisme psychique, de la sexualité infantile, et, peut-être le plus important de tout, à propos de l’irrationalité de la motivation humaine ».
