De immuunrespons is echter dikwijls suboptimaal (minder zekere of minder lange protectie na vaccinatie – zie verder), maar biedt meestal wel voldoende bescherming aan een grote groep patiënten.
La réponse immunitaire est toutefois souvent sous-optimale (protection moins certaine ou moins longue après vaccination – voir plus loin), mais offre généralement une protection suffisante à un groupe important de patients.
