België heeft toen op gepaste wijze gereageerd door in 1999 de Belgische Commissie voor de Coördinatie van het Antibioticabeleid (BAPCOC) op te richten.

De studie “Resistent tegen antibiotica” is door het Wetenschappelijk Instituut Volksgezondheid (WIV-ISP) uitgevoerd in samenwerking met het Intermutualistisch Agentschap (IMA). Ze deden dit met de steun van het Belgisch Antibiotic Policy Coordination Committee (Bapcoc). De opdrachtgever was de Nationale Raad voor Kwaliteitspromotie (NRKP) van het RIZIV. Zij heeft tot doel het verband te analyseren tussen het gebruik van antibiotica en het ontstaan van resistentie bij de individuele patiënt, zowel in de Belgische zorginstellingen als in de ambulante setting.
L’étude “Résistance aux antibiotiques” a été menée à l’Institut Scientifique de Santé publique (WIV-ISP), en collaboration avec l’Agence intermutualiste (IMA), et avec l’appui du Belgian Antibiotic Policy Coordination Committee (Bapcoc), sur demande du Conseil national de la promotion de la qualité (CNPQ) de l’INAMI. Elle a pour but d’analyser le lien entre l’utilisation d’antibiotiques et l’apparition de résistance chez le patient individuel, tant au sein des établissements de soins belges que dans le cadre de la pratique ambulatoire.

De Belgische Commissie voor de Coördinatie van het Antibioticabeleid (BAPCOC) werd in 1999 in het leven geroepen om de antibioticaconsumptie en -resistentie structureel aan te pakken.
