Risicofactoren voor het ontwikkelen van NSAID geassocieerde gastro-intestinale complicaties zijn hoge leeftijd, gelijktijdig gebruik van anticoagulantia, corticosteroïden, andere NSAID’s inclusief een lage dosis acetylsalicylzuur, invaliderende cardiovasculaire ziekte, infectie met Heliobacter pylori en een voorgeschiedenis van gastrische en/of duodenale ulcera en bovenste gastro-intestinale bloedingen.
Les facteurs de risques favorisant les complications gastro-intestinales dues aux AINS sont un grand âge, l’administration concomitante d’anticoagulants, de corticostéroïdes, d’autres AINS comme l’acide acétylsalicylique à faible dose, les pathologies cardiovasculaires débilitantes, l’infection par Helicobacter pylori et les antécédents d’ulcères gastriques et/ou duodénaux et de saignement de la partie gastro-intestinale supérieure.

Voorzichtigheid is geboden bij patiënten die EXJADE innemen in combinatie met stoffen waarvan bekend is dat ze een ulcerogeen vermogen hebben, zoals NSAID’s, corticosteroïden of orale bisfosfonaten, bij patiënten die anticoagulantia krijgen en bij patiënten met het aantal bloedplaatjes onder 50.000/mm 3 (50 x 10 9 /l) (zie rubriek 4.5).
