De onderzoekers hadden toen ook bijzondere aandacht besteed aan de analyse van methicilline resistente Staphylococcus aureus (SARM) door hun analyse van de invloed van het antibioticagebruik uit te breiden tot andere risicofactoren.

Het “Vaccine & Infectious Disease Institute” (VAXINFECTIO) van de Universiteit Antwerpen verricht momenteel, ten behoeve van de federale overheidsdienst Volksgezondheid, Veiligheid van de Voedselketen en Leefmilieu, een onderzoek naar het effect van de Belgische antibioticacampagnes op het antibioticagebruik in de ambulante praktijk sinds 2001.

Le “Vaccine & Infectious Disease Institute” (VAXINFECTIO) de l’université d’Anvers réalise, à l’heure actuelle, pour les besoins du service public fédéral Santé publique, Sécurité de la chaîne alimentaire et Environnement, une étude relative à l’effet des campagnes belges d’information sur les antibiotiques sur la consommation d’antibiotiques dans le secteur ambulatoire depuis 2001.

Ten slotte zou het antibioticagebruik door de Universiteit Antwerpen in tijd en plaats worden vergeleken, hetgeen het gebruik van tabellen met het aantal inwoners en rechthebbenden in België en het aantal raadplegingen en huisbezoeken, ingedeeld in functie van welbepaalde criteria, noodzakelijk maakt.
Enfin, l’université d’Anvers procéderait à une comparaison spatio-temporelle de la consommation d’antibiotiques, ce qui requiert le recours à des tableaux comprenant le nombre d’habitants et de bénéficiaires en Belgique et le nombre de consultations et de visites à domicile, répartis en fonction de critères déterminés.
