Uiteraard moeten ook de afspraken die gemaakt werden in het kader van advance care planning nagekomen worden en kan ook dit met een afbouw van de medicamenteuze behandeling gepaard gaan.

In tegenstelling tot de afspraken gemaakt binnen het gegeven van advance care planning, is deprescribing of het stoppen met bepaalde geneesmiddelen een beslissing die te allen tijde kan genomen worden, los van eventueel eerder gemaakte afspraken.
4 Pourquoi arrêter la prise de médicaments ? Contrairement aux principes élaborés dans le cadre de l’advance care planning, la « déprescription » ou l’arrêt de la prescription de certains médicaments est une décision qui peut être prise à tout moment, indépendamment de tout accord précédent.
