Daarnaast houdt het gebruik van COAC’s een toegenomen risico in op arteriële trombo-embolie (cerebrovasculaire pathologie, cerebrovasculaire accidenten (zowel hemorragisch als trombotisch), coronaire pathologie en myocardinfarct).
Par ailleurs, l'utilisation de COC implique aussi un risque accru de thrombo-embolie artérielle (pathologie cérébrovasculaire, accidents vasculaires cérébraux (tant hémorragiques que thrombotiques), pathologie coronaire et infarctus du myocarde).
