De MSC heeft tijdens haar 92e zitting wijzigingen goedgekeurd van het SOLAS-verdrag en van het Protocol van 1988 met betrekking tot het Verdrag uitwatering schepen teneinde de EO-code verplicht te stellen, zoals vastgesteld in resolutie MSC.350(92) en MSC.356(92) van 21 juni 2013.
The MSC at its 92nd session adopted amendments to the SOLAS Convention and to the Protocol of 1988 relating to the Load Lines Convention with a view to rendering the RO Code mandatory, as set in resolutions MSC.350(92) and MSC.356(92) of 21 June 2013.

De Maritieme Veiligheidscommissie van de IMO (MSC) heeft tijdens haar 93e zitting wijzigingen goedgekeurd van het SOLAS-verdrag, zoals uiteengezet in resolutie MSC.366(93) van 22 mei 2014, en van het Protocol van 1988 met betrekking tot het Verdrag uitwatering schepen, zoals uiteengezet in resolutie MSC.375(93) van 22 mei 2014, om de III-code verplicht te stellen, samen met een bijbehorende auditregeling van de vlaggenstaat.
The IMO Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) at its 93rd session adopted amendments to the SOLAS Convention, as set out in resolution MSC.366(93) of 22 May 2014, and to the Protocol of 1988 relating to the Load Lines Convention, as set out in resolution MSC.375(93) of 22 May 2014, with a view to rendering the III Code mandatory, together with an associated flag State audit scheme.

(7) Enkele lidstaten zijn nog geen partij bij bepaalde IMO-verdragen, zoals het SOLAS-Protocol en het Protocol betreffende de uitwatering van schepen (beide uit 1988) en bijlage IV en VI van MARPOL, noch bij specifieke IMO-verdragen die expliciet in de Gemeenschapswetgeving worden vermeld; deze lidstaten moeten worden aangemoedigd om het proces waarbij zij partij worden bij die verdragen te voltooien.
(7) A few Member States have not yet completed the process of becoming a contracting party to some of the IMO Conventions, such as the 1988 SOLAS and Load Line Protocols, MARPOL Annexes IV and VI, or to specific IMO Conventions explicitly quoted in Community legislation, and should be encouraged to finalise this process.

"radioveiligheids-certificaat voor vrachtschepen": het certificaat dat is ingevoerd bij het protocol van 1988 houdende wijziging van SOLAS, aangenomen door de Internationale Maritieme Organsiatie (IMO).
"cargo ship safety radio certificate" means the certificate introduced by the 1988 Protocol amending SOLAS, adopted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

(3) De voorschriften van het Internationaal Verdrag voor de beveiliging van mensenlevens op zee van 1974 (SOLAS 1974), het Internationaal Verdrag betreffende de uitwatering van schepen van 1966 (LL 1966) en het Internationaal Verdrag ter voorkoming van verontreiniging door schepen van 1973, zoals gewijzigd bij het Protocol van 1978 (MARPOL 1973/1978), voorzien in een hoog niveau van veiligheid van de schepen en bescherming van het milieu.
(3) The requirements set out in the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of life at Sea (1974 SOLAS), the 1966 International Convention on Load Lines (LL 1966) and the 1973 International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, as amended by the 1978 Protocol (MARPOL 73/78) provide for a high level of ship safety and environmental protection.
