TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Artikel 150 van het Verdrag betreffende de werking van de Europese Unie voorziet in de oprichting van het Comité voor de werkgelegenheid door de Raad om ministers van Werkgelegenheid en Sociale Zaken van de EU in de Raad Werkgelegenheid, Sociaal Beleid, Volksgezondheid en Consumentenzaken (EPSCO) te adviseren.

Calls on the Commission and the Council to give the same attention to social imbalances, and to correcting them, as it does to macroeconomic imbalances, and to see to it that adjustment measures seek to ensure social justice and enable a balance between economic growth and employment, the implementation of structural reforms and budget consolidation; calls, furthermore, on both institutions to prioritise employment creation and entrepreneurship support, and, to that end, to pay as much attention to EPSCO and its priorities as to ECOFIN and the Eurogroup and, whenever necessary, to hold a Eurogroup employment and social affairs ministers’ meeting prior to euro summits;

10. betreurt dat de ministers van Werkgelegenheid en Sociale Zaken niet op de Top aanwezig waren; juicht bijgevolg het initiatief toe om de werkwijze in het kader van de strategie van Lissabon te verbeteren; is van oordeel dat het uitnodigen van de ministers van Werkgelegenheid en Sociale Zaken en van de ministers van Economische en Financiële Zaken om deel te nemen aan toekomstige voorjaarsbijeenkomsten in dit verband van groot belang is en kan bijdragen tot handhaving van een evenwichtige beleidsmix;
10. Regrets the absence of Employment and Social Affairs Ministers at the summit, and welcomes in consequence the initiative to improve the working methods of the Lisbon Strategy; inviting the Employment and Social Affairs Ministers, as well as the Economic and Finance Ministers, to future Spring summits will be of importance in this context and might help to maintain a balanced ‘policy mix’;
