In het kader van mijn taken was ik voorzitter van het interministeriële comité voor de coördinatie en controle van het financieringsstelsel van het EOGFL, afdeling Garantie (1995-1999) en maakte ik deel uit van diverse werkgroepen in het kader van de bescherming van de financiële belangen van de Gemeenschappen en de fraudebestrijding en was ik lid van de Portugese delegatie in het Raadgevend Comité voor de coördinatie op het gebied van fraudebestrijding (COCOLAF).
As part of my duties, I was chairman of the Interministerial Committee for Coordination and Inspection of the EAGGF (Guarantee) Financing System (1995-1999), and participated in a number of working groups on the protection of the Comunities' financial interests and the fight against fraud.

In tal van adviezen over fraudebestrijding heeft het Europees Parlement er blijk van gegeven de diensten van de Commissie volledig te steunen bij hun coördinatie van de fraudebestrijding (UCLAF).
Parliament, in many opinions on combating fraud, has already expressed its full support for the Commission's Anti-Fraud Unit (UCLAF).

De Commissie van haar kant moet de lidstaten regelmatig informeren in het kader van het Raadgevend Comité voor de coördinatie van de fraudebestrijding. Zij kan zich er ook toe verbinden door de lidstaten te maken gerechtskosten te vergoeden.
The Commission must, for its part, brief the Member States through the Advisory Committee for the Coordination of Fraud Prevention, and may also agree to cover the legal costs of Member States. All these exchanges of information are subject to the rules of confidentiality.
