In contrast to action at the local level, the l aunch of the International Platform on Energy Efficiency will focus and contribute to strengthening energy efficiency world-wide, by facilitating closer co-operation between both developed and developing countries on energy efficiency measurement, standards and evaluation, labelling and certification, energy audits, stand-by losses, codes of conduct, and more.

Daarom dring ik er bij mijn collega’s op aan het amendement te steunen dat door de Verts-ALE-Fractie en de PSE-Fractie is ingediend en dat in het Engels als volgt luidt: “Calls on the Commission to evaluate the usefulness of supply-side management tools for the clothing sector, in order to level off global competition and prevent a lowest-common-denominator approach to social and environmental standards”.
Aus diesem Grund rufe ich die Kollegen eindringlich dazu auf, den von den Grünen und Sozialisten gemeinsam eingereichten Änderungsantrag zu unterstützen, in dem es heißt: „fordert die Kommission auf, die Zweckmäßigkeit von Verwaltungsinstrumenten auf der Angebotsseite für den Textilsektor zu bewerten, um den globalen Wettbewerb einzuschränken und um einen Ansatz bezogen auf den kleinsten gemeinsamen Nenner sozialer Normen und Umweltstandards zu verhindern.“

9. The Commission envisages to ask the European standards organisations to make a systematic assessment of necessary future standardisation in support of the regulatory framework; intends to evaluate the need to legislate at European level to achieve the control of satellite-derived dat a dissemination or other harmonisation of legislation; further encourage the move to a flexible, market based approach for spectrum allocation and to encourage pan-EU approaches to spectrum use ; and to discuss with Member States and international partners how export control regulations can be better streamlined.
(9) Die Kommission will die europäischen Normungsorganisationen ersuchen, notwendige künftige Normungsvorhaben zur Flankierung des Regulierungsrahmens systematisch zu evaluieren; sie will prüfen, ob Vorschriften auf EU-Ebene erforderlich sind, um die Kontrolle der Verbreitung von Satellitendaten zu erreichen, bzw. ob es einer weiteren Rechtsangleichung bedarf.
