The general objective is the definition and implementation by Mali of a migratory policy adapted to the regional and European policies and dynamics. The specific objective is the setting up of the Migration Information and Management Centre which will implement and coordinate the various elements of Mali's migration policy. The expected results are (i) definition and implementation of an information and communication strategy on the legal conditions for migration and the prevention of irregular migration, (ii) putting in place a mechanism for welcoming, orientating and accompanying potential migrants (iii) putting in place a service for welcoming, orientating and accompanying returnees (iv) productively using the human, financial and technical capital lof the diaspora (v) knowledge and analysis of the migratory flows of relevance to Mali (vi) coordination of the various hierarchical structures so that they can properly steer the above-mentioned components.

De Groep geeft uiting aan haar waardering voor de uitstekende samenwerking met onder meer de Hoge Commissaris van de Verenigde Naties voor vluchtelingen (UNHCR), de Internationale Organisatie voor Migratie (IOM), het Internationaal Comité van het Rode Kruis (ICRK), Amnesty International en een aantal NGO's die gespecialiseerd zijn op het gebied van asiel- en migratievraagstukken, zoals de Europese Raad voor vluchtelingen en ballingen (ECRE) en de Migration Policy Group (MPG).
Die Gruppe begrüßte die ausgezeichnete Zusammenarbeit unter anderem mit dem Hohen Kommissar der Vereinten Nationen für Flüchtlinge (UNHCR), der Internationalen Organisation für Migration (IOM), dem Internationalen Komitee vom Roten Kreuz (IKRK), Amnesty International und zahlreichen auf Asyl- und Migrationsfragen spezialisierten NRO, wie etwa der Europäische Rat für Flüchtlinge und im Exil lebende Personen (ECRE) und die Migration Policy Group (MPG).

Het Waarnemingscentrum heeft een contract gesloten met Migration Policy Group (MPG). Deze groep gaat 15 nationale verslagen opstellen over nationale wettelijke maatregelen tegen racisme, antisemitisme en vreemdelingenhaat in de 15 lidstaten en een beknopt verslag waarin het «voorstel van Starting Line» met de geldende nationale wetgeving, de toepassing hiervan en voorbeelden van goede praktijken wordt vergeleken.
Die Beobachtungsstelle hat mit der Migration Policy Group (MPG) einen Vertrag über die Erstellung von 15 Länderberichten zum Thema Gesetzgebungsinitiativen zur Bekämpfung von Rassismus, Antisemitismus und Fremdenfeindlichkeit in den 15 EU-Mitgliedstaaten geschlossen. Ferner soll in einem zusammenfassenden Bericht der ,Starting-Line-Vorschlag" den geltenden nationalen Rechtsvorschriften, ihrer Anwendung und bewährten Verfahren gegenübergestellt werden.
