Dans une communication, également adressée au Parlement européen, en mai 1998, la Commission a souligné que des évidences laissent supposer que la pratique qui consiste à exporter des produits palestiniens avec la mention "produits d'Israël", avec des certificats d'origine israéliens, s'applique à une part substantielle des exportations totales des produits d'origine palestinienne vers la CE.
In a Communication, which was also addressed to the European Parliament, of May 1998, the Commission pointed out the following: “Evidence suggests that the practice of exporting Palestinian products as “made in Israel” under Israeli certificates of origin applies to a substantial proportion of total exports into the EC of Palestinian originating products”.
