Definition: States of subjective distress and emotional disturbance, usually interfering with social functioning and performance, arising in the period of adaptation to a significant life change or a stressful life event. The stressor may have affected the integrity of an individual's social network (bereavement, separation experiences) or the wider system of social supports and values (migration, refugee status), or represented a major developmental transition or crisis (going to school, becoming a parent, failure to attain a cherished personal goal, retirement). Individual predisposition or vulnerability plays an important role in the risk of occurrence and the shaping of the manifestations of adjustment disorders, but it is nevertheless assumed that the condition would not have arisen without the stressor. The manifestations vary and include depressed mood, anxiety or worry (or mixture of these), a feeling of inability to cope, plan ahead, or continue in the present situation, as well as some degree of disability in 9the performance of daily routine. Conduct disorders may be an associated feature, particularly in adolescents. 7. Aucune disposition de la présente convention ne peut être interprétée comme empêchant un État contractant de percevoir, sur les revenus imputables à des établissements stables dont dispose dans cet État une société qui est un résident de l’autre État contractant ou sur les revenus imputables à l’aliénation de biens immobiliers, situés dans cet État, d’une société qui est un résident de l’autre État contractant et qui exerce des activités dans le domaine des biens immobiliers, un impôt s’ajoutant à l’impôt qui serait applicable aux revenus d’une société qui est un résident du premier État, pourvu que l’impôt additionnel ainsi établi n’excède pas 5 pour cent du montant des revenus qui n’ont pas été assujettis audit impôt additionnel au cours des années d’imposition précédentes.
7. Nothing in this Convention shall be construed as preventing a Contracting State from imposing on the earnings attributable to permanent establishments in that State of a company which is a resident of the other Contracting State or on the earnings attributable to the alienation of immovable property situated in that State of a company which is a resident of the other Contracting State carrying on a trade in immovable property, tax in addition to the tax which would be chargeable on the earnings of a company which is a resident of the first-mentioned State, provided that the rate of any additional tax so imposed shall not exceed 5 per cent of the amount of such earnings which have not been subjected to such additional tax in previous taxation years.

(7) Where, but for this Article, a person would be covered under the laws of both Contracting States in respect of an activity that is considered to be self-employment by one of the Contracting States and employment by the other Contracting State, that activity shall be treated according to the provisions of this Article respecting self-employment if the person is a resident of the first Contracting State and according to the provisions of this Article respecting employment in any other case.

4. Notwithstanding anything in the Convention, alimony and other similar payments arising in the Contracting State and paid to a resident of the other Contracting State who is subject to tax therein in respect thereof shall be taxable only in that other State but the amount taxable in that other State shall not exceed the amount that would be taxable in the first-mentioned State if the recipient were a resident thereof.
