Dans la mesure où les investissements qui allégeraient sensiblement le coût des virements transfrontaliers ne seraient pas rentables parce qu'ils seraient amortis sur un trop petit nombre de payeurs, il faut en conclure que s'ils étaient réalisés dans ces conditions, leur coût serait reporté sur l'ensemble des clients des banques qui n'ont rien à voir avec cette question. Je crois qu'en toute équité, cette conséquence n'est pas vraiment souhaitable. Politiquement, elle est tout à fait douteuse.
Investment leading to significant reductions in the cost of cross-border payments would not be profitable because it would be amortised over far too few payers. To that extent, the conclusion must be that making that investment under these conditions would mean applying the costs to all bank customers, most of whom have nothing to do with the matter. I do not really think that, in all fairness, that is a desirable outcome.
