Environ 43 % de l'enveloppe budgétaire consacrée au secteur de l'environnement pour l'année 2002 était destinée à des projets combinant l'approvisionnement en eau potable et la collecte des eaux usées, tandis qu'un tiers du budget était consacré à des projets de collecte et de traitement des eaux usées, essentiellement axés sur la rénovation, la réparation ou l'extension des réseaux d'assainissement et la construction de nouvelles stations d'épuration ou la remise à neuf des stations d'épuration existantes.
About 43% of the budgetary commitments in the environment sector for the year 2002 were dedicated to projects combining the provision of drinking water with the collection of sewage water, whereas one third was devoted to projects for sewage collection and treatment systems, focussing essentially on the renewal, repair or extension of sewerage networks and the erection of new or the refurbishment/upgrading of existing wastewater treatment plants.

Considers that the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) identifies relevant electricity and gas infrastructure projects and should contribute to setting the priorities for the selection of projects of European interest to be developed in order to achieve EU energy and climate goals, without interfering with the functioning of the internal market; takes the view, in this regard, that interconnection capacity should be considered at the same level as the 20-20-20 targets, and that, accordingly, the TYNDP should be understood as the instrument for monitoring compliance with the 10% interconnection target;

Considers that the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) identifies relevant electricity and gas infrastructure projects and should contribute to setting the priorities for the selection of projects of European interest to be developed in order to achieve EU energy and climate goals, without interfering with the functioning of the internal market; takes the view, in this regard, that interconnection capacity should be considered at the same level as the 20-20-20 targets, and that, accordingly, the TYNDP should be understood as the instrument for monitoring compliance with the 10% interconnection target;

Compte tenu de la complexité technique des projets de collecte et d'échange d'informations dans le domaine de la liberté, de la sécurité et de la justice, une attention particulière doit être accordée à la conception initiale des structures de gouvernance.
In view of the technical complexity of information collection and exchange projects in the area of freedom, security and justice, particular attention must be paid to the initial design of governance structures.

Par conséquent, parallèlement aux projets expérimentaux, la constitution de bases de données européennes sera encouragée par un soutien financier aux travaux sur les métadonnées paneuropéennes destinées à l'information du secteur public et par des projets de collecte de l'information couvrant un nombre significatif d'États membres de l'Union européenne.
Therefore, in addition to the experimental projects, the establishment of European data collections will be stimulated, through financial support, to work on pan-European metadata for public sector information and through projects collecting information covering a significant number of European Union Member States.
