Il y a lieu de fixer les règles applicables aux contrôles officiels réalisés aux fins de la vérification du respect des règles prévues au présent règlement et aux autres activités officielles réalisées par les autorités compétentes conformément au présent règlement et qui sont adaptées au secteur de l'élevage d'animaux.
It is necessary to lay down rules on official controls performed for the verification of compliance with the rules provided for in this Regulation and on other official activities carried out by the competent authorities in accordance with this Regulation that are adapted to the animal breeding sector.

Le règlement (CE) no 854/2004, annexe I, section IV, chapitre VII, établit les exigences spécifiques applicables aux contrôles officiels concernant le gibier d’élevage et les viandes de gibier d’élevage.

4. 4. Where the official controls referred to in points (a) and (c) of paragraph 2 have not identified any shortcoming that would make the meat unfit for human consumption, the health mark shall be applied to domestic ungulates, farmed game mammals other than lagomorphs, and large wild game, by the official veterinarian, under the supervision of the official veterinarian, under the responsibility of the official veterinarian, or, in compliance with the conditions laid down in paragraph 3, by the slaughterhouse staff.
