The Commission should examine the feasibility, costs and benefits of establishing an electronic vehicle information platform by taking advantage of existing and already implemented IT solutions with regard to international data exchange, so as to minimise costs and avoid duplication.

26. reconnaît l'importance de l'e-learning, qui constitue une méthode d'apprentissage adaptée aux innovations dans le domaine des TIC et qui peut répondre aux besoins des personnes ayant des difficultés d'accès aux méthodes conventionnelles d'apprentissage, tout en soulignant la nécessité impérieuse d'un échange préalable d'informations entre les professeurs, les étudiants et les autres parties concernées; les échanges internationaux doivent également être encouragés afin que les établissements d'enseignement puissent retrouver leur rôle important dans la promotion de la compréhension entre les peuples;
26. Recognises the importance of e-learning as a method of education adapted to ICT innovations which can meet the needs of people who do not have ready access to conventional educational methods, but underlines that the need for the exchange of information between teachers, students and other interested parties is an essential prerequisite. International exchanges must also be encouraged in order that educational establishments might regain their important role in promoting understanding between peoples;

Compte tenu de l’expérience acquise, des perspectives d’évolution des marchés tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur de la Communauté, ainsi que du nouveau contexte des échanges internationaux, il est indiqué de développer une politique globale et cohérente d’information et de promotion concernant les produits agricoles et leur mode de production ainsi que des produits alimentaires à base de produits agricoles, sur le marché intérieur et les marchés des pays tiers, sans toutefois inciter à la consommation d’un produit en raison de son origine particulière.
Taking account of experience gained, the prospects for market development both within and outside the Community and the new international trade situation, an overall, coherent information and promotion policy should be developed for agricultural products and their method of production, as well as for food products based on agricultural products, on the internal market and on third country markets, without encouraging the consumption of any product on grounds of its specific origin.

Calls for examination of ways of actively supporting and promoting work aimed at making use of the European Health Insurance Card ("EHIC"), containing a standardised set of electronic patient data, common practice, in order to simplify procedures for European citizens to obtain health care in other Member States; considers that the holders of an EHIC must determine themselves the data which will appear on it; in order to make the most effective use of this system, calls for the adoption of European health indicators; considers that it is crucial, for reasons of patient safety, to encourage national authorities to exchange information on registration and disciplinary matters relating to health care providers operating across borders; believes that it is appropriate to expand the EHIC scheme to include a system of international exchange of data concerning the insurance status of patients;

Being convinced that this cooperation can be further improved by, among other things, intensifying the exchange of relevant information and best practices among the US Customs and Border Protection, the European Commission and the customs authorities of Member States of the European Community in order to ensure that general customs controls of international trade take due account of security concerns.
