Le gouvernement canadien pourrait reconnaître qu'étant donné les très faibles pressions exercées et la forte résistance qui s'oppose tant ici qu'en Amérique latine au genre d'accord que la ZLEA semble vouloir être, c'est l'occasion de consacrer plus de temps à l'examen d'un plus grand nombre de questions au lieu de promouvoir un projet qui n'a pas beaucoup d'appuis ici et qui suscite beaucoup d'opposition en Amérique latine et dans la société civile canadienne.
In fact, I think the Canadian government could recognize that given that there is very little pressure and lots of resistance both here and in Latin America to the kind of agreement the FTAA appears to be, this is an opportunity to work more slowly on a broader number of issues, instead of promoting the agenda that is not receiving lots of support here and that is generating much resistance in Latin American countries and in Canadian civil society.
