Wacker Chemie possède déjà une installation de production de polysilicium en Bavière, mais le nouvel investissement de 800 millions € est destiné à Nünchritz, près de Dresde, dans l'est de l'Allemagne, région caractérisée par un niveau de vie anormalement bas et un grave sous-emploi, et donc admissible au bénéfice d’aides régionales en vertu de l’article 107, paragraphe 3, point a), du TFUE.
Wacker Chemie already has a polysilicon production plant in the German region of Bavaria but the new investment of €800 million is to be carried out in Nünchritz, Dresden, in East Germany, an area eligible for regional aid under Article 107(3)(a) of the EU Treaty as a region with an abnormally low standard of living and high unemployment.
