Surely as a nation rises up—and I pointed this out to the protests in provinces—the committee on health could find it in their mandate not only to address health care broadly instead of hiving it off into a small area, but to travel across this country to the people who are on the steps of the legislatures in their provinces; to travel across the country to meet with the nurses and the care workers in the hospitals; to meet with the people who are trying to deliver home care in the country; to meet with the seniors groups who can't afford medication; to hear their concerns and come up with the new proposals the Minister of Health says he wants.

J'espère que pendant l'heure que nous allons passer devant vous pour vous présenter notre point de vue, vous allez vouloir entendre parler de ce que vivent les femmes auprès de qui nous travaillons, les femmes et les enfants que nous essayons de protéger, et que nous n'allons pas passer à la question de la violence contre les hommes.
I am hoping that during this hour we have before us, in terms of our presentation, this committee will be wanting to hear about the women we work with and the children and women we are trying to protect, and that we won't be shifting to the subject of abuse against men.
