On that day David Kevin Johnson, who chose to drink, who chose to get into his automobile and as a result killed three members of a family, was given a three and a half year sentence because the judge said he was bound by precedents which resulted because over time cases had been heard in which defence lawyers had continually chipped away at what was once an appropriate sentence for this crime.
