In accordance with their national traditions and practices, Social Partners at national level should be invited to ensure the effective implementation of the Employment guidelines and to report on their most significant contributions in all areas under their responsibility, in particular concerning the management of change and adaptability, synergy between flexibility and security, human capital development, gender equality, making work pay and active ageing as well as health and safety at work.

Afin de lutter contre l'exclusion sociale et la pauvreté, et faire face aux conséquences du vieillissement démographique, l'UE doit favoriser le vieillissement actif de la population, les efforts en vue d'assurer la viabilité des systèmes de pension et de protection sociale, l'intégration des migrants légaux et le développement d'une politique communautaire de l'immigration, l'amélioration de la situation des familles et des enfants en particulier ainsi que l'égalité hommes-femmes.
In order to combat social exclusion and poverty and mitigate the effects of an ageing society, the EU must promote active ageing and make efforts to ensure the viability of pension and social protection systems, integrate legal migrants and develop a Community immigration policy, improve the situation of families – especially of children – and promote equality between men and women.
