- (EL) Monsieur le Président, je vous avoue envier M. Vander Taelen, non seulement parce que son rapport va vraiment au fond des choses, étant donné qu’il s’y connaît admirablement bien dans le domaine du cinéma, mais aussi parce que ce rapport contient une vision forte tout en proposant des choses bien concrètes sur ce que nous devons faire, sur la politique que nous devons mener en matière de cinéma européen.
– (EL) Mr President, I have to admit that I envy Mr Vander Taelen; not only does his report contain very meaningful conclusions, thanks to his remarkable knowledge of the film industry, but he also has tremendous vision and has tabled very specific proposals as to what we should do, what policy we should apply in connection with European films.

Je ne partage malheureusement pas le point de vue de M. Vander Taelen lorsqu’il propose d’obliger les chaînes de télévision à investir une partie de leurs recettes dans l’industrie cinématographique.
Unfortunately, I am not of the same mind as Mr Vander Taelen when he states that it should be compulsory for TV channels to invest a proportion of their turnover in the film industry.
