Notes that Switzerland introduced transitional arrangements following the suspension of the negotiations on Swiss participation in the Erasmus+ programme; is concerned that these measures will probably have an impact on movements of higher-education students between the EU and Switzerland; calls on Switzerland and the EU to make every effort to satisfy the requirements laid down for their participation in the Erasmus+ programme, in order to guarantee exchange reciprocity and not penalise young people;

L’Union européenne et la Suisse signent aujourd’hui un protocole d’accord fixant les modalités d’un financement, par la Suisse, de projets menés dans les nouveaux États membres de l’UE pour un montant total d’1 milliard de francs suisses (environ 645 millions d’euros) sur une période de cinq ans.
The European Union and Switzerland will sign today a Memorandum of Understanding setting up the arrangements by which Switzerland will finance projects in the new EU Member States for a total amount of one billion Swiss Francs (about €645 million) over a period of five years.
