Le gouvernement du Canada s'engage à améliorer la coordination et à accroître la surveillance à l'égard des droits des enfants grâce à des initiatives interministérielles et intergouvernementales, comme le Comité permanent des fonctionnaires chargés des droits de la personne ainsi que le Groupe de travail interministériel sur les droits des enfants du gouvernement fédéral.
The Government of Canada endeavours to strengthen coordination and monitoring of children's rights through interdepartmental and intergovernmental initiatives, such as the Continuing Committee of Officials on Human Rights and the federal Interdepartmental Working Group on Children's Rights.

Étant donné que notre Parlement est l’un des organisateurs de ses réunions annuelles, et vu que des conférences interministérielles importantes seront certainement au programme de l’année à venir dans le contexte du cycle de Doha, il serait utile d’augmenter le financement de ces initiatives pour faire en sorte que nous disposions d’options infrastructurelles suffisantes pour notre participation.

Stresses the importance of Parliament being represented at all WTO meetings at which major steps in the negotiations are taken and where ministers are involved and not only on the occasion of official Ministerial Conferences; requests, therefore, that a small delegation of members of the Parliament be meaningfully involved in the meetings to be convened in Geneva with a view to meeting the 30 April and 31 July 2006 deadlines set in the Hong Kong Declaration; invites the Council to extend an invitation to such a delegation of members of the Parliament to participate, as observers, in at least one of the meetings of the 133 Committee to be organised in Geneva at the end of April 2006; calls on the Commission to support this initiative and to ensure that members of the Parliament receive appropriate information on the progress of negotiations during their stay in Geneva;

Nous avons par contre appris que le programme de Partenariat interministériel avec les communautés de langues officielles, le PICLO, ne sera pas renouvelé et que les fonds de 5,5 millions de dollars annuellement, qui étaient investis, retourneront aux fonds généraux du gouvernement plutôt que d'appuyer de nouvelles initiatives interministérielles ou même, de façon plus générale, de nouvelles initiatives en langues officielles.
We have learned, however, that the Interdepartmental Partnership with Official Language Communities Program, the IPOLC, will not be renewed and that the $5.5 million budgeted annually for this program will return to general treasury funds rather than being used to create new interdepartmental initiatives or, in a more general way, help support other official language initiatives.
