TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Je salue la volonté de la Commission de rendre la législation plus claire, plus simple et plus transparente, d’adapter le système des statistiques du commerce extracommunautaire aux modifications qui doivent être apportées aux procédures relatives à la déclaration en douane, d’accroître la pertinence, la précision, la ponctualité et la comparabilité des statistiques du commerce extérieur, et de mettre en place un système d’évaluation de la qualité, de favoriser l’établissement d’un lien entre les statistiques du commerce et les statistiques des entreprises, de répondre aux besoins des utilisateurs par l’élaboration de statistiques supplémentaires des échanges, grâce à l’exploitation des informations disponibles dans les déclarations en douane, et, enfin, de contrôler, conformément au code de bonnes pratiques de la statistique européenne, l’accès privilégié aux données sensibles sur le commerce extérieur.
I welcome the Commission’s decision to make legislation clearer, simpler and more transparent; to adjust the system of extra-Community trade statistics to the changes to be introduced in the procedures regarding customs declaration; to increase the relevance, accuracy, timeliness and comparability of external trade statistics, and establish a system for quality assessment; to support the linking of trade statistics with business statistics; to respond to user needs by compiling additional trade statistics using information available in customs declarations, and finally to control, in line with the European Statistics Code of Practice, the privileged access to sensitive external trade data.

However, there are obvious limits to the statistical use of the single administrative document (SAD). It is planned to assess user needs and make fuller use of customs declarations in order to obtain better statistical information in several domains: financial statistics, taxes, application of customs measures, nature of transaction, etc. This information should be collected, checked and processed using harmonised methods and stored in a general database, from which various types of statistics could be compiled as required.
