Nous ne pouvons pas pour autant ignorer la contrepartie, soit la criminalisation de la liberté d'expression, comme dans le cas du blogueur égyptien Maikel Nabil, ou l'assassinat de la journaliste Marie Colvin en Syrie ou encore la mise en place d'un pare-feu pour empêcher l'accès à Internet, comme en Iran.
