Aujourd'hui, à l'occasion du Forum urbain mondial organisé en Malaisie, la Commission dresse le bilan des progrès réalisés dans le cadre des trois engagements proposés il y a 15 mois par l'Union européenne et ses partenaires.
Today at the World Urban Forum in Malaysia, the Commission takes stock of what was achieved under the three commitments put forward by the EU and its partners 15 months ago.

Les États membres sont également invités à traduire dans la réalité les engagements pris quant à la prévisibilité de l'aide aux trois niveaux proposés par la Commission en développant entre autre des calendriers pluriannuels décrivant l'accroissement d'aide publique au développement.
Member States are also invited to put into practice their commitments regarding the predictability of aid in the three ways proposed by the Commission by developing inter alia multiannual timetables setting out the increase in official development assistance.

S’inspirant de ces efforts conjoints, la présente communication propose un engagement européen commun en faveur de l’emploi. Il vise à renforcer la coopération sur les trois priorités non seulement entre l’Union et ses États membres, mais également entre les partenaires sociaux européens, grâce à la mobilisation autour d’actions concrètes et au soutien de tous les instruments communautaires disponibles, notamment le Fonds social européen (FSE) et le Fonds européen d’ajustement à la mondialisation.
Building on this common effort, this Communication proposes an EU Shared Commitment for Employment, aiming to strengthen cooperation between the Union and its Member States as well as between EU social partners, on the three key priorities, focussing on concrete actions and supported by all available Community instruments, particularly the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Globalisation Adjustment Fund.

– (FR) I voted in favour of the report by my Finnish fellow Member Mr Virrankoski proposing to approve Draft amending budget No 6/2008 of the European Union for the financial year 2008, which includes the following: strengthening of the framework programme for Competitiveness and Innovation – Entrepreneurship and Innovation by increasing the commitment appropriations by EUR 3.9 million; an increase of EUR 2.24 million in commitment appropriations to cover, among other things, part of the rent and related costs of a new ‘Arc’ building for Eurojust; adjustments to the number of posts in three executive agencies; creation of the necessary budgetary structure to accommodate the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), which is the fifth joint undertaking to be set up under the Seventh Framework Programme, and allocation of EUR 30 million in commitment appropriations and EUR 1.9 million in payment appropriations.

Reminds the Member States of their commitments, agreed at the Barcelona European Council in 2002, to eliminate obstacles to the equal participation of women and men in the labour market and to introduce by 2010 childcare for 90% of children between three years old and the mandatory school age, and for at least 33% of children under three years old; calls on the Member States to put forward similar targets for facilities for care for the elderly and sick relatives;

Ces trois groupes proposent de déposer un amendement oral visant à fusionner les trois amendements en question et à ajouter à la fin du paragraphe 7 : ".qui représente adéquatement les femmes afghanes, dans le respect de leurs droits fondamentaux, et s'engage à les faire participer pleinement à la construction de l'avenir".
The suggestion is an oral amendment to merge all of them to add at the end of paragraph 7: "which adequately represents women, respects their human rights and ensures that Afghan women participate fully in building such a future".
