Earlier that day Carla del Ponte, Chief Prosecutor of the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal, reported to the Security Council that so far the Tribunal had exhumed 2,108 bodies in Kosovo, far fewer than the number – up to 100,000 – publicized earlier.
