The eleven participating organisations are the Airports Council International (Europe), the Association of European Airlines, the International Air Carriers Association, the European Low Fare Airline Association, the European Regions Airline Association, the International Air Transport Association, the International Aviation Handlers’ Association, the European Express Association, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation, the European Cockpit Association and the European Transport Workers’ Federation.

L’arrêt de la Cour fait suite à la demande de contrôle juridictionnel présentée par l’International Air Transport Association (IATA), la European Low Fares Airline Association (ELFAA) et Hapag-Lloyd Express auprès de la High Court of Justice of England and Wales, qui ont fait valoir l’invalidité à plusieurs titres du règlement communautaire relatif aux droits des passagers .
The Court ruling follows an application for judicial review that was first submitted by IATA (International Air Transport Association), ELFAA (European Low Fares Airline Association) and Hapag-Lloyd Express, to the High Court of Justice of England and Wales, claiming that the EU Regulation on air passenger rights was invalid on several grounds.
