Considers that the 2006 budget is a bridge to a new programming period and should therefore reflect its transitional character and anticipate the envisaged higher funding from 2007 onwards for the key policy areas; decides, therefore, to reinforce a set of important budget lines concerning research and innovation, SMEs, competitiveness, Socrates, Youth, development of the internal market, Life, Intelligent Energy and the Leonardo da Vinci programme; moreover, is willing to agree with the Council on sufficient funding to finance priorities under objective and enduring circumstances, through the use of provisions of the Interinstitutional Agreement of 6 May 1999, in particular points 33 and 34 thereof, or through the application of Article 272 TEC;

Cette activité permettra non seulement d'améliorer sensiblement les contrôles et les services proposés aux opérateurs du système du transit mais assurera aussi l'implantation des principaux éléments d'une infrastructure informatique qui pourrait être exploitée pour accroître spectaculairement l'accès aux informations tant par les services des douanes que par les opérateurs économiques.
This work will not only significantly improve the controls and services offered to Operators for transit traffic but will also lay down much of the informatics infrastructure which can be exploited to dramatically improve the availability of information to customs and economic operators alike.
