A cette occasion, le Commissaire van den Broek s'est réjoui du fait que les contacts, tragiquement interrompus depuis les évènements du mois d'août, aient été renoués entre les deux communautés et il a souligné l'importance de développer les contacts entre les deux communautés de façon à favoriser une stabilité politique sur la question chypriote.
On this occasion, Commissioner van den Broek welcomed the resumption in Brussels of contacts between the two communities, interrupted since the tragic events of August, and underlined the importance of promoting contacts between the two communities in order to facilitate a political settlement of the Cyprus question.
