Notes the fact that the Commission has made real efforts to make the TTIP negotiating process more transparent, especially in the light of the publication of the European directives for the negotiations on the TTIP (1103/13 CL 1); notes that this essential document was only disclosed on 9 October 2014 while the negotiations started in June 2013; recalls that the Commission is in all circumstances legally obliged to comply with the rules on public access to documents set out in Regulation 1049/2001; regrets that the access given to Members of the European Parliament to TTIP negotiating texts has been to date extremely limited; highlights that the documents available in the EP secured reading room do not contain any consolidated material or any text tabled by the US; highlights the need to ensure transparency through a direct and open dialogue in the form of public consultations with all stakeholders;

25. salue la décision du Conseil de l'Union européenne de publier les directives de négociation de l'Union relatives aux négociations du TTIP en cours entre l'Union européenne et les États-Unis; salue également la décision de la Commission de publier davantage de textes de négociation de l'Union et de permettre un accès élargi à d'autres documents dans le contexte des négociations du TTIP; estime que le fait de surveiller étroitement la transparence des négociations relatives au TTIP a renforcé le rôle du Médiateur en tant que gardien de la transparence de l'Union européenne; approuve la demande de la Médiatrice souhaitant une approche politique transparente et une campagne d'information sur le TTIP adoptées par les institutions européennes; s'engage à suivre les résultats de la consultation sur la transparence en ce qui concerne le TTIP, entre autres en étudiant les pétitions reçues sur la question, en particulier compte tenu de l'impact potentiel du TTIP et d'autres négociations commerciales sur la vie des citoyens européens;
25. Welcomes the decision of the Council of the European Union to publish the EU negotiating directives for the ongoing negotiations on the TTIP between the EU and the US; equally welcomes the decision of the Commission to publish more EU negotiating texts and to allow broader access to other documents in the context of the TTIP negotiations; considers that the fact of closely monitoring transparency in the TTIP negotiations has strengthened the role of the Ombudsman as guardian of EU transparency; endorses the Ombudsman’s call for a transparent policy approach and an information campaign on TTIP, to be adopted by the European institutions; commits to following up on the outcomes of the consultation on TTIP transparency, inter alia by considering petitions received on this issue, in particular in view of the potential impact of TTIP and other trade negotiations on the lives of European citizens;
