Cette intégration est également possible grâce aux nouveaux objectifs que la Communauté, devenue l'Union européenne, s'est fixés, au-delà des succès du marché unique. Parmi ces objectifs je veux surtout citer l'affirmation du principe de citoyenneté européenne.
