Pursuant to the first subparagraph of Article 8(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1083/2006 the NUTS level II regions totally covered by Objective 1 in 2006 under Article 3 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1260/1999 of 21 June 1999 laying down general provisions on the Structural Funds whose nominal per capita gross domestic product (GDP) level, measured and calculated according to Article 5(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1083/2006, will exceed 75 % of the average GDP of the EU 15 shall be eligible, on a transitional and specific basis, for financing by the Structural Funds under the Regional competitiveness and employment objective.

L’article 7, paragraphe 4, du règlement (CE) no 1260/1999 du Conseil du 21 juin 1999 portant dispositions générales sur les Fonds structurels dispose que, au titre de l’objectif no 1, un programme d’aide au processus de paix en Irlande du Nord, dénommé programme PEACE, est mis en place au profit de l’Irlande du Nord et des régions frontalières d’Irlande pour une période de quatre années, de 2000 à 2004.
