24. note que, conformément à la nouvelle réglementation des Fonds structurels (2000-2006), en vertu de laquelle l'intégration du principe de l'égalité des chances entre les femmes et les hommes dans les Fonds en question constitue un objectif prioritaire, les Etats membres sont tenus d'effectuer une évaluation ex ante des plans à préparer, de fixer des critères de sélection des projets et d'assurer le suivi des interventions au moyen d'indicateurs dans une perspective d'égalité entre les femmes et les hommes; que, par conséquent, les indicateurs de suivi et les statistiques doivent être ventilés par sexe;

Notes that, in accordance with the new regulations on the Structural Funds for 2000-2006, which establish the mainstreaming of equal opportunities for women and men in the Funds as a priority aim, Member States are obliged to conduct an ex ante evaluation of the plans to be drawn up, establish selection criteria for projects and use indicators in monitoring assistance from the point of view of gender equality; notes accordingly that the monitoring indicators and statistics ought to be broken down by gender;
