Le nouveau programme, qui est doté d'une structure simplifiée comptant trois volets (Mémoire, Participation civique et Valorisation), doit rapprocher l'Union européenne de ses citoyens ainsi qu'amener ceux-ci à prendre davantage conscience de l'Union et à mieux la comprendre, ce qui devrait en dernière analyse les encourager à participer à la vie politique dans l'UE.
The new programme has a simplified structure with three strands (Remembrance, Civic participation and Valorisation) and it aims to bring Europe closer to its citizens, as well as to improve citizens’ awareness and understanding of the European Union, which should ultimately increase citizens' participation in EU political life.
