J'espérais que, par suite de l'augmentation du nombre de députés réformistes lors des dernières élections et compte tenu de l'importance que leur parti attache à une réforme fiscale complète, l'un des fondements de leur stratégie allait consister à susciter un débat sur cette question et à s'attaquer à l'énorme tâche qui consiste à modifier notre législation fiscale, qui est lourde, inefficace et dépassée.
I was hopeful, when a number of additional members from the Reform Party came here during the last term knowing that they had a huge commitment to comprehensive tax reform, that would be one of the centrepieces of their strategy in trying to mobilize debate and the will to take on the huge problem of changing our cumbersome tax act, which is inefficient and does not work any longer.
