a) on prendra trois spécimens d’épreuve, chacun ayant approximativement 150 mm de longueur et 13 mm de largeur; chaque spécimen sera marqué au moyen d’une ligne tracée à 25 mm de l’une des extrémités; l’autre extrémité sera bridée dans un support de façon que l’axe longitudinal du spécimen soit horizontal et que l’axe transversal soit incliné de 45° par rapport à l’horizontale; un morceau propre de toile d’acier de 18 mailles, d’environ 125 mm de côté, sera bridé sous le spécimen dans une position horizontale à 6 mm au-dessous du bord du spécimen, environ 13 mm du spécimen dépassant de la toile;
(a) three test specimens, each approximately 150 mm long by 13 mm wide shall be used; each specimen shall be marked by scribing a line 25 mm from one end; the other end shall be clamped in a support so that the longitudinal axis of the specimen is horizontal and the transverse axis inclined at 45° to the horizontal; a clean piece of 18 mesh wire gauze about 125 mm square shall be clamped under the specimen in a horizontal position 6 mm below the edge of the specimen, and with about 13 mm of the specimen extending beyond the edge of the gauze;

d) si la flamme s’éteint de nouveau avant d’avoir atteint la marque de 25 mm sur chacun des trois spécimens d’épreuve, le laminé dans lequel ils ont été découpés sera considéré comme étant autoextincteur.
(d) if the flame is again extinguished before reaching the 25 mm mark on each of the three test specimens, the laminate from which they were cut shall be regarded as self-extinguishing.
