L'Union européenne espère sincèrement que cet événement tragique ne conduira pas à une aggravation de la tension et des violences en Irian Jaya/Papouasie et que les efforts visant à mettre en œuvre de manière scrupuleuse la loi sur l'autonomie spéciale récemment promulguée pourront se poursuivre dans l'intérêt du territoire et de ses habitants.
The European Union sincerely hopes that this tragic event will not lead to increased tension and violence in Irian Jaya/Papua, and that the efforts to faithfully implement the recently enacted Special Autonomy Law can continue to the benefit of the territory and its inhabitants.
