L'impact social et économique négatif de la crise et un manque de réformes structurelles, alimentant la pauvreté et l'exclusion en Europe dans un contexte de vieillissement démographique, d'accroissement des flux migratoires et de montée de l'euroscepticisme, rendent extrêmement urgente la nécessité d'un paradigme politique capable de renforcer la solidarité et les valeurs fondamentales de l'acquis social européen.
The negative social and economic impact of the crisis and a lack of structural reforms which is fuelling poverty and exclusion in Europe against the backdrop of an ageing population, increased migration flows and growing Euroscepticism, means that the need for a political paradigm that can reinforce solidarity and the fundamental values of Europe's acquired social rights is now a matter of extreme urgency.

La Lituanie doit achever la transposition de l'acquis et le mettre effectivement en oeuvre dans le domaine de la santé publique et de la santé et de la sécurité au travail, y compris par le biais du renforcement des institutions concernées; développer le dialogue social et la protection sociale, ainsi que renforcer encore les structures administratives afin de gérer l'aide du Fonds social européen.
Lithuania needs to complete transposition and effectively implement the acquis in the areas of public health and health and safety at work, including through the strengthening of relevant institutions; develop social dialogue and social protection; and further strengthen the administrative structures to manage support from the European Social Fund.

Il lui rappelle également que, dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre de l'agenda social européen, le Conseil européen de Nice a invité la Commission à associer les entreprises, pour renforcer leur responsabilité sociale, à la création d'un partenariat efficace avec les partenaires sociaux, les organisations non gouvernementales, les collectivités territoriales et les organismes gestionnaires de services sociaux et que le Conseil européen de Stockholm s'est félicité des initiatives prises par les entreprises pour favoriser la responsabilité sociale des entreprises.
The honourable Member is also reminded that, in the context of the implementation of the European social agenda, the Nice European Council invited the Commission to involve enterprises in establishing an effective partnership with the social partners, with a view to reinforcing the social responsibility of the former. Non-governmental organisations, local authorities and bodies administering social services were also to be involved. The Stockholm European Council expressed its satisfaction with the initiatives taken by enterprises to promote their corporate social responsibility.
