Pour ma part, ce sont toujours les mêmes: condamnation totale du régime de Saddam, mais crainte que la manière avec laquelle les États-Unis l’ont fait tomber ne crée une situation sinon aussi horrible tout au moins ingérable; refus des guerres décidées unilatéralement; réaffirmation du rôle des organisations internationales et en particulier de l’ONU, non seulement pour décider de l’usage de la force, mais aussi pour superviser la reconstruction.
Mine have not changed. I wholly condemn Saddam Hussein’s regime, but I fear that the way in which the United States brought it down has created a situation which is, if not equally horrific, at least as unmanageable. I do not endorse wars that are decided upon unilaterally. I believe the role of international organisations must be reaffirmed, particularly the role of the UN, not only in approving the use of force but also in supervising reconstruction.
