À l’occasion d’une visite à Catane organisée par la FAO, Serge Colet, professeur d’anthropologie à l’Université de Hambourg, et François Feral, professeur de droit public à l’Université de Montpellier, répondant à un journaliste du quotidien "La Sicilia" (28 août 2000) quant au moment où et à la manière dont la pêche industrielle a eu et a encore un impact sur la faune en Méditerranée, déclarent que la pêche industrielle doit totalement disparaître de la Méditerranée.
In the course of a visit to Catania arranged by the FAO, Mr Segre Colet, lecturer in anthropology at Hamburg university and Mr François Feral, lecturer in public law at Montpellier university, replying to a journalist from the Sicilia newspaper (on 28 August 2000) on the subject of how, and to what extent, industrial fishing had affected, and continued to affect, the fauna of the Mediterranean, stated that `industrial fishing should completely disappear from the Mediterranean´.
