Closure was then moved on four motions in the Thirty-Seventh Parliament (January 2001 to May 2004): [36] to amend the Standing Orders with respect to report stage motions in February 2001; to provide for committee business and the re-instatement of government bills onto the Order Paper and for the re-establishment of a special committee at the beginning of the Second Session of the Thirty-Seventh Parliament in October 2002; to urge the government to ratify the Kyoto Protocol in December 2002; and to provide for the re-instatement of government bills at the beginning of the Third Session of the Thirty-Seventh Parliament in February 2004.

The rules should give continuity to the simplification measures already implemented under Decision No 1982/2006/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities (2007-2013) and the final report of the Expert Group 'Interim Evaluation of the 7th Framework Programme' of 12 November 2010 and progress further in reducing the administrative burden for participants and the complexity of the financial provisions in order to facilitate participation and decrease financial errors.

Considers that the 7th EAP should take into account the provisions of the forthcoming Blueprint on EU Water Policy and stresses the value of a better coordinated approach to water pricing; calls on the Commission, therefore, to facilitate access to solutions to water shortages, water recovery and developing alternative irrigation techniques and to encourage the optimisation of the successive uses of water extracted from the water cycle, including recycling water used for agricultural and industrial purposes where appropriate, and recovering the nutrients and energy contained in waste water;

N-731/93 - Contract-related aid to the Swan Hunter yard. - United Kingdom - Approval The Commission decided to authorise the partial and limited reconversion of the Swan Hunter yard back to a merchant yard, taking into account the following undertakings given by the British Government: - the yard will take only two to three orders, with production aid, related to contracts entered to in 1994 and 1995 (if aid permitted); - the aid will be provided according to the rules set in Article 4 of the Seventh Directive and subject to the monitoring procedure provided for in Article 12 of the same Directive; - the total amount of aid is limited to a maximum of 7 million pounds; - after three contracts, if there is any allowance left out of the 7 million pounds, any further aid is subject to prior notification to the Commission, in derogation from the provisions of Article 12 of the Seventh Directive. - this is a one-off request and will not constitute a precedent for any of the remaining military yards.
