Les missions de l’agence semblent d’ailleurs devoir devenir plus nombreuses, plus complexes et pour tout dire insurmontables tant que l’on ne se sera attaqué au fond du problème: d’une part, l’Europe reste, malgré les périples du voyage et les difficultés rencontrées sur place, un Eldorado social et financier pour les candidats à l’immigration clandestine; d’autre part, la politique de coopération, insuffisante, est mise en danger par l’immigration des professionnels diplômés organisée par l’UE elle-même.
What is more, the Agency’s tasks seem destined to increase, to become more complex and, in fact, insurmountable so long as the root of the problem is not tackled: on the one hand, Europe remains a social and financial Eldorado for would-be illegal immigrants, in spite of the dangers of their journey and the problems they encounter on the ground; on the other, cooperation policy, as inadequate as it is, is being threatened by the immigration of degree-holding professionals orchestrated by the EU itself.
